The straightforward Base route

Uniswap v2 on Base is the familiar pair-style market. For many token teams, this is still the easiest buy alert setup: one token, one quote asset, one pool, and a Telegram group waiting for posts. The important detail is that v2 sits beside v3, v4, Aerodrome, PancakeSwap, and other Base routes. When alerts are quiet, the first question is often whether the bot is watching the same pool the community is actually trading.

When you are ready to add alerts, invite @BAESBuyBot to the Telegram group, give it permission to post, and run the route command from that group or topic.

baes scan supports Base Uniswap v2 as a first-class setup path. If your token trades against WETH, USDC, or another quote, you can find the route, confirm the pair, and then turn on buy alerts in the group.

How to add @BAESBuyBot

Invite @BAESBuyBot to your Telegram group or channel and give it permission to post messages. If the group uses Telegram topics, open the topic where buys should appear and run:

/topic here

Then enable alerts with a block very close to the token's first mint, or the exact block where the token was first minted:

/watch base 0xToken any <firstMintBlock> uniswap v2 all

Use any if you are not sure which quote token has the real liquidity. If you know the quote, use a tighter command:

/watch base 0xToken weth <firstMintBlock> uniswap v2 all

When you already know the pair

If the deployer or DEX screen already gives you the pair address, add it directly:

/pool base 0xPairAddress 0xTargetToken

Direct pool entry is useful when the token has several pools and you only want alerts from the launch pair. It is also the cleanest answer when a broad token-only setup finds the wrong market or misses the intended pair.

Tune the posts

After the pair is saved, run:

/settings
/pools
/status

Use /settings to set the minimum buy size, media, emoji, and alert text. For a smaller launch, a low threshold helps the group feel alive. For a busy pair, raise the threshold so the feed highlights meaningful buys.

Common v2 mistakes

The most common mistake is watching the right token on the wrong DEX. A Base token can have a Uniswap v2 pair, a Uniswap v3 pool, a PancakeSwap pool, and a random community pool all at the same time. If the chart everyone shares is a Uniswap v2 pair, say uniswap v2 in the command or add the pair directly.

The second mistake is using a quote token too early. If the team is not certain where liquidity settled, start with any, check /pools, and then tighten the setup after the correct pair is visible. The third mistake is skipping Telegram permissions. The setup can be correct and still appear silent if the bot cannot post in the group or topic.

Need another chain?

This setup is for Base, but v2-style routes can exist elsewhere. If your target chain is not listed yet, message @mrtdlgc on Twitter/X or Telegram with the chain, token, DEX, and pair address if you have it.

Summary

For Base Uniswap v2, start with /watch and use /pool when you already know the exact pair. The setup is simple, but being explicit about chain, quote, DEX, and first-mint block keeps the Telegram group from watching the wrong market.
